Beveled Edge Slate House Signs – our 10mm thick slate signs with a deep beveled edge. These slate signs have a natural riven surface which gives the slate beautiful natural patterns and textures; your slate may have varying grey colour tones which run through the core of the slate house sign – it may even have different textures which run through the face of the sign.
The rustic riven surface of these slate signs – accompanied with the deep cut beveled edges which are finished with a smooth polished edge creates a beautiful contrast and creates real emphasis on the patterns of the slate as well as your house name and/or house number.
We only use premium methods of engraving our beveled edge slate house signs. What do we mean by this? Our beveled edge slate signs are all deep engraved, and are not ‘Laser Engraved’; laser engraving only marks the surface of the slate and can wear and fade overtime. Our deep engraving method means that your lettering will be engraved into the surface of the slate and will be there for a lifetime. Deep engraving your slate house sign also means that we’re able to give you the option to have the engraved lettering on your slate sign hand-painted in a colour of your choice; white, metallic silver, metallic gold or you can even have your slate house sign gilded with 24.5ct Gold.

How long will your beveled slate house sign last and will the paint last?
Short term answer – YES! As mentioned above, our slate house signs are deep engraved; meaning that your engraved house name and/or number will be there for a lifetime! The paints used to then infill colour into your deep engraved lettering on your slate house sign are specially made signwriters paints – made to stand the test of time – and specially made for exterior use!
Your slate house sign will be very durable; slate is a natural stone and is therefore naturally hardwearing.
Do the Beveled Slate House Signs come pre-drilled?
Yes they do, unless requested otherwise. As standard, we pre-drill all of our slate signs prior to shipment to save you the hassle. The screw holes in your slate will depend on the size and weight of the sign – the amount of screw holes in your slate house sign will be demonstrated in the product picture.

Do the Slate House Signs come with Screws?
All of our slate house signs come with the screws and screw caps. These are made specially for external use – opposed to cheap bathroom mirror screws which are not suitable for outdoor use. Depending on how and where you’re fixing your sign you may need additional rawl plugs.

What if my Slate House Sign Arrives Damaged?
In the very, very rare instance if one of our slate house signs ever arrives damaged or faulty – simple contact us via email (info@snobssigns.co.uk) and quote your order number and a photo of the issue. A friendly member of our team will be happy to very quickly rectify this issue and get any needed replacements sent out for you. All of our Signs are packed with extreme care and sent with more than sufficient enough packing; with all parcels being labelled as fragile. We have been shipping signs Worldwide for 20+ years and always have very little issues regarding damages etc.
